Problem with Virtualbox and External HDD

    I have an external eSata Hdd, thus very quick. Let's call it E drive.

    I have installed Virtualbox on my C drive, while the virtual HDD stays on E.
    I am running Ubuntu on VirtualBox but I have a problem: after the first start up after installation now I cannot boot it any longer.
    I hear the E HDD starting to load, but then I am stuck when I get to the Ubuntu logo. No way to go ahead.

    attached the only message I get before sticking to the Ubuntu logo.

    Any advise how to fix it?
