I run windows xp. recently I installed wampserver and apache would not run. After some investigation on the net I discovered that NOD32 was possibly the problem. I was told that I would have to uninstall both then instal wampserver first and then NOD32. I did this and everything was fine.

I recently updated wampserver and the exact problem reappeared "WSADuplicateSocket failed for socket......" This time I didn't uninstall wampserver, just NOD32 and rebooted the computer. However the problem was still there. I then ran the registry tool on CCleaner and what do you know? Wampserver was working ok again.

I am currently sitting with NOD32 uninstalled which I am not happy with as I would like to reinstall and get back my virus protection that I am paying for.

Can anyone out there help me with this? It is obviously a registry entry? Can I reinstall NOD32 and change a registry setting to allow wampserver to work along side of it? What registry setting do I have to change? Or is there another solution to my problem.

    My thanks in advance.

    Brian

    Hello Clydebhoy,

I have tested WAMP on my machine and could not replicate the problem. You may want to try excluding Apache and MYSQL from the ESET real-time protection. See the Knowledgebase article located here for info on how to do that.
