    Hello,

To my surprise I noticed an old acquintance still using PrevX3Safe Online face book freebie. I will be seeing him again after new year, so I have got a few urgent questions:

    Is cloud database maintained? (*)

Is cloud database shared with WebRoot?

(*) I assume Yes, since home user version still can be bought from PrevX Websit (since the code is from 2009, something has to be actual to this customer proposition o_O )

Yes, the database is still maintained, although it isn't as strong as WSA's database (but there is some two-way information flow wherever possible). The main strong points of SafeOnline are its generic information stealer protection which is included and improved upon in Webroot's Identity Shield (now available in just the WSA AntiVirus version), but the core SafeOnline protection is still working strong despite a few minor graphical browser incompatibilities.

    Hope that helps :)

    Thanks for the quick answer.

The only commercial reference I could find was from a South African bank, which still offers PSA to its customers for free.

Are there any plans to provide a seperate identity shield/safe online version in the future based on the latest WebRoot code?

    Regards Kees

There was a talk last Xmas/New Year about it. Other than that, it's an on going process. :D

We have an Identity Shield standalone version through some bank partners but it isn't available as a separate product outside of those agreements at the moment. Most of our banking partners are using a WSA AntiVirus + Identity Shield build to give an additional layer of protection against non-identity-based threats as well as the generic security against real information stealing threats. SafeOnline is still used by several banks as well, and we're working on migration plans for SafeOnline and the overall Prevx 3.0 userbase to move to WSA, but as the several threads on this forum can attest, it is a much more time consuming process than anticipated.
