Did it crash or did it upgrade versions. I once had it exit I thought maybe it crashed but it was just updating to a newer version.

Need some info. What OS you running what other security programs if any you got installed, And when does it do it the most. (Example) Image sites or Flash sites any info would be helpful.

Sadly it only happened once, it seems to me it's extremely rare

I don't know then. If it happens again Note down what you are doing where you are and such so you can report it back. Joe may have some other ways of looking so I would wait for his response also. (PrevxHelp)

The Windows Event Viewer may have some data on the crash, if you click Start > Run > and type eventvwr.msc and then browse through the Application folder, it will (hopefully) show some details about an Error related to prevx.exe

If you could paste those details here, that would be a big help!

    Thanks :)

I dont want to hijack this thread but i have 8 "Application Hang/Error" related to prevx.exe in my Logs. Do you want them per PM? Prevx sometimes crashes under heavy load/fast files reading? I noticed that sometimes but its rare...

.xml would be the best way :) We are definitely interested in fixing anything even if it occurs in fast motion only (possibly indicative of a race condition). If you could send them to report@prevxresearch.com and make some mention of "Joe" in the subject line, it will get to me :)

    Thanks for the help! :thumb:

I have sent you the logs. The e-mail is called "Joe - prevx crash logs". I hope the logs will help something.

They did :) (at least the non-0x0's - those aren't exactly very indicative of anything useful :D)

We have narrowed down the source of most of the issues and will have a fixed version early next week.

    Thanks for the help!

I have a crash log about CSIScanner and Service Control Manager. Could it be useful?

The Service Control Manager saying that it stopped is normal - it starts and stops itself abruptly and our self protection prevents Windows from seeing that it is safely stopping :D

Nothing to worry about, I suspect :) Thanks for the watchful eye!
