I have been using ClamWin Portable from PortableApps.com for some time now. It works for me, but is there another free portable antivirus up to par with ClamWin? I'm just worried that ClamWin might fail to detect something and I want another for backup purposes. Any suggestions?

Dr Web Cureit. The detection rates should be better than ClamAV, and CureIt has great removal capabilities.

It must be ran from the PC you are scanning but Dr Web CureIt is portable in the sense that it is a complete scanner. Not just for a few viruses like McAfee's Stinger. CureIt can be downloaded directly to a "sick" PC or downloaded elsewhere and transferred to the "sick" PC by disc or flash drive.

    **EDIT**
    I'm old and slooooowwwww! :D

There is a real portable version of Virus Chaser I think. Works in real time as well.
