Using PM12 to shrink C: on WinSvr 2008, get error "Volume exclusive access is required to complete the operation." There are files opened by the OS, can't close them, obviously. Don't do this very often, but I know I've done it before, think it required a reboot, but otherwise has worked.

If this won't work booting from C:, can I PE boot from flash & run PM12 that way to resize C:?

Yes, you can use the boot medium.

Will PM install on a DVD, or is there a portable version?

If you have the paid version, you can download the boot media builder from your account.

Regarding your problem, you can directly contact Paragon to get solution. If still cannot solve your problem.I think you can turn other 3rd party software for help.
