If I send a PM to another member, can I delete it (so that it is not received by the intended recipient), if that recipient has not opened it yet?

    Thank you

    It appears so.
Go to your private messages, then to sent messages, select the pm you want on the bottem of the page check box delete this message then click on delete this message.
Never tried this but its there.

Yes there is a Delete button there, but I'm not sure that it deletes the copy of the PM sent to the recipient, or merely the copy stored in the sender's Sent Items folder.

    We could try it...

You could PM me and then delete it. I'll let you know the results.

    OK?

I see a PM in the message counter, haven't opened it, and I got the pop up saying I had one.

Just checking before opening... did you delete it?

I'm thinking that the delete button only works for the copy in the sender's Sent items folder...

I received it. Deletion only works for the sender's copy.

Darn. Maybe we could use an "I changed my mind" deletion button.

Many many years ago (more than 10) I seem to recall that AOL email had that capability... the sender could in effect say "Never mind!" and retrieve the sent mail.

Maybe someone else remembers that, or maybe I imagined it.

This is is a very amusing topic. I don't know if it existed but I certainly wished it had. For the PM thing to work both copys of the PM would have to be linked, as soon as you remove the link the sent copy disintegrates (just an idea)
