    What version and build of DD are you using?

    When you boot to the DD CD and look at the drive, does DD show any partitions or is it all unallocated or shown as corrupt?

    Have you tried the Partition Recovery Wizard in DD to see if it can find the partition?

    It sounds like you started the procedure in Windows and it needed to reboot. It also sounds like you did all the procedures and then tried to process them all at once. Both of these are bad ideas. Any partition operation that involves the Windows partition should be performed by booting to the DD CD. And it's generally better to do each procedure step-by-step, waiting for successful completion before doing the next one.

    Also, a data or image backup is highly recommended before doing any partition procedures as data loss can happen if something goes wrong.

    DD = Disk Director.
    TI = True Image.
    OSS = Acronis OS Selector.

    ---

    I'm not sure what you mean by a "system state" and "windows" backup on DVD. Is this a TI image or a backup with another backup program?

    There are several recovery programs available that you can try for free to see if you can recover any files. However, if you're not comfortable experimenting with this and your files are important, it may be better to seek professional help with the recovery.

    Here are several recovery program links:
    Recover My Files
    R-Studio
    Salvage Recovery
    ParetoLogic Data Recovery
    There are others too and you may even be able to find some free recovery programs.

    Whatever you do, don't format the drive or make any more changes to it. Any partition or writing operations can make it more difficult or impossible to recover any files.
