Yes, please post some screenies. Not just the GUI -- I would also appreciate seeing screenies of all the config screens and other stuff.

Maybe you would like to know that this new version don´t need a restart upon install. You can test it with shadowdefender.

Anyway, interface and options are very similar.

Everything left at default. Alerts clearer, interface easier to use, opens and closes quicker than before. Application control alerting on unsigned programs, see screenshots above, while allowing Opera, IE etc to open without prompts.

    Thanks Saraceno!

PCTFW is a nice, light FW. Runs well on ShaDef.

Once this beta closes, this could be a keeper.

Some minor additions, but worthwhile. I like that you can now access traffic details from the main interface, bytes sent and received, which can be reset anytime. :)

The normal/expert user thing I wasn't impressed with in the last version, so having one version is better to me. Not sure if it was as easy last time, but changing rules seems simple to me now.

Nice tip, thank you for that. :thumb:

Noticed the first time I used a few programs, slight delay, but on subsequent use, no delay.

I'll give some steam games a whirl, check my ping and report back later on. ;)

This app is "annoying", i installed it on virtual machine and i had also bluepoint security installed.. and PC tools firewall popped up all the time asking me if i want to allow Bluepoint to do modifications. Even if i tell it to remember to always allow it still was asking me over and over and i got nuts. :( , but other then that it seemed as a good fw.

How close is this firewall to being a final release and out of beta? Also, will PC Tools keep upgrading the free version after this final release?

Anyone using the beta with wifi connections?

On CNET, I noticed Windows 7 wasn't a listed OS. Has it been upgraded to include it? Will it work for 64-bit?

Yeh, I remember now one of the big drawbacks to the PC Tools firewall was its slow boot up time. If that's rectified then the firewall will be very solid IMO. Think I'll give the beta a try today since it's that close to release.

I think he means the 30 seconds or so in which the PCTools FW icon in the taskbar stays grey before it shows that the firewall is active. And i think i saw somewhere that this was by design, although i do not remember for what reason they did that.

I remember PC Tools firewall would not load first on boot and there was concern that an infected computer could have malware phone home before PCT fw loads.
