    Call me stupid but I cannot find out for sure if this 2011 Compact Edition allows for backing up single partitions.
    Mentioned on the Paragon site for Compact Edition is;
    -Complete set of features for entire disk imaging and file Backup
    -Useful extras: boot corrector, simple partitioning and more (So clearly the recovery USB/CD offers a basic partitioning function)

    The comparison list clearly shows only for the paid version;
    -Copy Partitions & HDD
    Anyone who has already installed & played with this Compact version?

    You can back up and restore a single partition.

    Thank you to Brian and GOTD, because this version is DIFFERENT to the Paragon Free, and it's rescue CD recognised my partitions correctly and restored my W7 correctly :D :thumb:

    I am very happy about this because the Paragon Free couldn't recognise my drives properly for some reason, but this Giveawayoftheday version has a better rescue CD obviously. :thumb:

    It's not the exact same, notice on that link it says it supports WinPE 3.0 based Recovery Environment, but this GOTD version does not.

    It matters not, it successfully restored my W7 and it only took 20 minutes :thumb:

    What did you use to convert to basic?

    I used the Giveaway of the Day - EaseUS Partition Master Professional 9.1 to convert to Basic.

    And now I used the Giveaway of the Day - Paragon Compact, and it works great :D

    It's been a long week, experimenting, trying to find what works, and eventually I got something that can backup and restore my W7 :thumb:

    And I got you to thank for it. I'm very happy, cheers.:argh:
