That signature count of almost 400,000 is amazing It nearly doubled with this new Vista compatible version...

 

I wouldn't place too much emphasis on the signature count figure.

You think that count is high? AVIRA added their 500,000th entry in September. (http://www.avira.com/en/company_news/evildoers_safely_detected.html)

Most AVs count their malware records differently.

 

400 000 i guess is a good number. Avira has far more though. Avira needs to get more generic signatures. It currently has over 671 000 total signatures.

 

Guess I'm used to DrWEB's 175,000 (give or take) signature number eh?...
