I am using TrueImage Version 8 build 937. I cannot pursuade my Packard Bell to boot from the Bootable Cd as it hangs with a black screen. If I remove (after pressing F11) Quiet from the command line and substitute "acpi = off noapic" it stops on the command "using /lib/modules/cde-detect:0".

If I press F11 too soon it goes into the PackardBell recovery program (arrrrrrrrrgh)

    Thanks for any help

    Hello Narberth,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

We recommend you to download and install the free trial version of Acronis True Image 10.0 Home, create a new Bootable CD using the trial version and check how the software works on your computer. The limitation of Acronis True Image 10.0 Home trial version is that you can only restore an image when you run the program from the bootable media. It is fully functional in Windows. The trial version evaluation period is 15 days.

You can find the detailed instructions on how to use Acronis true Image 10.0 in the respective User's Guide.

If the issue persists, please create Linux system information (sysinfo.txt) as it is described in Acronis Help Post. Then submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with a solution.

Please note that since you own the previous version of the program you can purchase Acronis True Image 10.0 Home at a discounted rate. Please visit Acronis online store to purchase the upgrade.

    Thank you.
