Have Win98SE + Maxtor external HD. Want to put 98 on latter for separate use. Using ADD 9.0 & OS Selector 8.0. I set up a primary partition on Maxtor and made it active. Copied contents of C drive to it. Why don't I see a new OS in OS Selector?

    Hello flossie,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Multiboot Managing Software.

Could you please let me know you can boot from your Maxtor external hard drive? Also please try to de-activate and then activate Acronis OS Selector again. Please let me know the result.

    Thank you.

No, I couldn't boot from the Maxtor; in fact I couldn't re-boot from C either because it was hidden. I ended up re-installing W98 and all my apps. Data were on the Maxtor. Now I've got ADD telling me that my C drive has two partitions - one the size of the drive (40G) is hidden and one somewhat smaller is active, both primary. I'd like to get it back to showing just one partition but am worried that I'll lose everything again. Can you help?

    Hello flossie,

Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

Could you please download Acronis Report utility available at http://www.acronis.com/files/support/AcronisReport.exe and run it, create a report and send it to us? This would provide us with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure.

Please also make a screen shot of the main window of the Acronis Disk Director Suite 9.0 showing your partitions layout in the bottom part and send it to us.

Please send gathered information to support@acronis.com along with the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.
