Orphaned Stuff

Just give Mark Russinovich Autoruns a whirl,and had a look at the services and drivers tabs.I was very supprised at least to saw so many orphaned drivers and services running pointing to knowwhere.Softwares long ago uninstalled had drivers and services running amounting to 30 items,disabled them all, cautious wise in sequence. but the result was quite amasing,normally used to boot to desktop in 1.30 min.After cleaning this crab 57 sec. !!!
Registry Cleaners never gave me some hint !!

 

Not unusual at all. Most programs uninstallers are terrible, and the Windows one is not much better IMO. Go to Device Manager\View\Show Hidden devices\Nonplug and Play Devices. You should find most of the offending entries there. Right click and click uninstall. Tread carefully though as not all are named in a clear fashion so it is quit easy to break something by removing the wrong entry. Google is your friend for those you are not sure of.

 

The fun with Autoruns is rightclick something and choose to search the web.

 

For this, first u need to add this variable. Right click MyComputer > ....

 

So that is how you can have the setting become "default"? Always just did it manually when ever the mood struck me. Do not play with as much software installs\uninstalls as I used to do since I am on XP64. No need to visit it very often anymore.
