Maybe try masking as Firefox ? R/click on page > Edit Site Preferences > Network.

Yeah thanks, I tried that, but eventually I can open AOL normally now. On a different topic somewhat, is there any way to flashblock in Opera?

Opera has a built in flashblocker. Just go to Tools>Preferences>Advanced>Content
There tick Enable plugins only on demand. You can do this on a site by site basis as well,
    r/click page >edit site preferences>content.

BTW, what did you do to get AOL mail to behave ?

    Daveski17,

You may want a button on the toolbar which will open the page you are viewing in Firefox ?
On rare occasions Opera may have trouble displaying a page, clicking the button will immediately open it in Firefox.

    http://operawiki.info/CustomButtons#webdev

Drag the 'Open Page in Firefox' button to your toolbar. You will get a button 'InFx'.
You can assign an icon to it (like my screenshot shows), but then you would need to
do some minor editing in the skin zip and the toolbar.ini file.

No need for a button, just right click on any page and there is "Open with" submenu which should list all installed browsers.

    You are 100% right :thumb:
I missed that, maybe because it didn't show Firefox in earlier versions, or I didn't think of
looking out for that. Therefore no need for Daveski to mess around unless he wants to. :D

    @Ocky & Pliskin:

Thanks guys, the Firefox button sounds interesting Ocky, but I usually use the open with function. Opera does have these problems opening the occasional page. Hence the included function I reckon. ;)

    Yahoo! still doesn't like Opera.

Opera automatically choose the right version according to your OS but
click More Options if you need a different version

Where's the setting to select the url in the address bar with a single click? (I can do it with ctrl+l in any case.)

F8 - see also my link on using Opera without a mouse in this post.

What is the problem with Yahoo ? Have you tried 'Identify as Firefox' ?

No problem at all. But Yahoo! still throws up the stupid message about using an unrecognized browser. I just ignore the message and everything works just fine; I just want to check my mail and I haven't found it necessary to change the UA so far.

No, the page that comes up is the regular one, AFAICT. Could it be some tweak or extension that's causing you to get the mobile page? But it's quite ridiculous that Yahoo! doesn't recognize Opera. (Google Drive doesn't either!)

Edit: Not true. GDrive works fine but I think I remember not being able to access my files with version 11 o_O

Maybe a country specific thing. See also http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=1443472&t=1340116160&page=1#comment12530412

That seems to be the case, for example if I go to Yahoo India page displays perfectly - I don't get a browser warning on either mobile version or India.
Not important as I don't use Yahoo at all, just wanted to see what you meant. :)

On the other hand why do both Firefox and Google Chromium display the localised (za) page correctly. A conundrum.

Re. Yahoo; to get the non mobile site if you are affected:- http://www.yahoo.com/?m=1

Also Opera automatically checks for updates to browser javascript on a weekly basis with a view to fixing incompatible sites or sites that block Opera.

Check here. You should see something like this (turn on javascript of course).
