    All traffic should be redirected through the VPN connection. If it was a web proxy only HTTP requests would use the new IP address.

    However, you have no way of knowing for sure your real IP is not used in any way by some app. Unless you root the device and check the source. The best way to make sure to use the VPN is to connect the android device to a wireless router and let the router use the VPN connection.

    thanks... i tried the dnsleaktest as well. Seems good, not leaking my real ipaddress.

    the only downside is when the signal is poor or down, the vpn will disconnect.
