Regarding the NOD32 module, what are the differences between
    1. "Local" (Scan local disks),
    2. "In-depth analysis" (Perform in-depth analysis), and
    3. "Run NOD32" (Run on-demand scanner) ?

All 3 can be configured to scan my 2 hard-drives (C and D) - with the same setup options.

    Thanks.

So if I configure each option (profile) the same way - they are all the same - right?

I may be wrong here, but I think this may be only a scan, not a “scan and clean”. I’ve never used it.

Full in depth scan, you will be prompted for actions upon detected. Profile can not be altered, it is preset.

If set up according to this tutorial, then a "scan and clean" will be at maximum settings and fully automated.

    Cheers :D

    Is the
"In-depth analysis" (Perform in-depth analysis) scan,
    better than the
"Run NOD32" (Run on-demand scanner) , even when set up according to your tutorial (ie at maximum settings)?

An "In Depth Analysis" does have "Email" ticked in the "Setup" tab, hence, email folders are not scanned within this profile. To check this, start a scan and then stop it. You can then see what settings are used. As well everything is set to prompt, so prepare to sit in front of your PC while it scans ;) :D

The Tutorial is designed for maximum settings and maximum automation.

    Cheers :D

Sorry to belabor the same issue, but I am just trying to learn the Nod32 software.

I can go into setup and actually tick off all the same options in each of the profiles:

    1. "Local" (Scan local disks),
    2. "In-depth analysis" (Perform in-depth analysis), and
    3. "Run NOD32" (Run on-demand scanner)

In fact I have ticked off every option in each of the 3 - does that mean all 3 profiles now do the same thing?

I have just checked again and you can now save settings in both Local and In Depth, so yes, all your profiles are now the same.

    Cheers :D

    Great, thanks for your help!

More questions later (but another thread on a different topic).
