New user here and have one question that I can't seem to find in the forums (may be the extreme late hour here).

I have installed and updated the spywareblaster and have checked out my "Browser Pages" link. There are many pages listed there that I would like to squash, delete, destroy, NEVER SEE AGAIN. LOL

How do I do that? I mean, I only want Google as my regular ole homepage and NOT all those other (recently DL carp from my lovely teen son). So far, I have attempted to highlight the pages under the Browser settings that I want to kill, but all it allows me to do is either click 'change' or 'more info on them' and I don't want to do the wrong thing.

My basic question is, how do I kill out all them other ridiculous lengthy lists of 'other' browser pages listed under that list and ONLY keep the Google one?

Many thanks in advance, I will bookmark this thread and check back after I get up. I have just spent HOURS killing off mucho garbage my darling son picked up from free version of Bearshare.

I have Windows home XP, use IE, have zone alarm set on high settings, password protected, have spybot, adaware, EZ antivirus, and also AVG. I only just added this spywareblaster this evening as an afterthought and its very late here and I just need to know that one thing so I can set my mind at ease by changing the browser list down to ONE and never ever ever see all them 'other' browser pages even on a 'list' again.

    Thank a million everyone,
    Samby

Is this what you are refering to. if it is you might not want to remove all of the settings there are some of those you just might need in your os. If you are sure that you want to change one of them highlite the one you want to change and hit the change bar.

Thank you for the reply! Okay, I hope this works, as I am attempting to insert the image I am seeing. What is happening, is I KNOW I want to kill the 'tagteamgirls' URL......

When I highlight the image and then click 'change' I get the 'Edit Browser Page' window.

What do I do at that point? Because I have tried pressing 'cancel'. I have tried simply backspacing and removing the URL, but each time I think I have done what I was supposed to do, it appears I have actually done nothing at all.

How do I kill it completely off my list there forever? Please spell it out for me because nothing I have tried has worked thus yet.

Okay, I tried to add an attachment but it didn't work and HTML isn't working when I tried to put it in either, so here is the URL to see what I'm talking about, please copy it into your browser to see the picture of what I'm seeing.

    Thanks in advance!

when you have the target url in the edit box and it is highlited blue, click on the end of the url and the highlite will disapear. Then you should have a cursor bar at the end of the url. Just hold the backspace button down on the keyboard and it should remove the target url.. If that will not work, with the url highlited hit the delete button on the keyboard. If that does not work I don't know what else to do except wait for Javacool to reply.

okay, I see my picture DID work. Hopefully someone will now know what to tell me what to do. There are several unfamiliar itmes who's URL's are still showing up as potential start/search pages. I will copy below EACH item I see and also what message I get when I click for "more info" Such as:

Hello and thank you for your reply, I really do appreciate it. I did do exactly as you said....I did it both ways; I had it in the edit box then pressed delete to get rid of the item in the box. Once I did that I pressed 'okay' but the item simply remained put - in other words the url did NOT go away from the main list. I also pressed 'cancel' with it highlighted and also got rid of the highlight and backspaced to make the word go away.

    *SIGH*

I just want to kill off the tag team girls and any other one that may appear suspicious.

I was hoping that I could delete them via the spyware blaster.

I also run AdAware SE and update it daily. I also have zone alarm, EZ antivirus, and Spybot. I update and run them all daily. I have max items protected with all of the above items.

I go away one silly evening and a teen age son can turn off my protectors, and go to town apparantly.....argh! New passwords are enabled by now, thats for sure!

I think I *nearly* have it all cleaned out by now, but not sure.

Should I DL a trojan remover or do anything else that you can think of?

I have to do a few things, but will keep this bookmarked and will check back in a short while.

    Once again, I thank you!

it looks as if you only had one "bad url" tag team girls the others are Hewlett Packard web pages and a couple msn search assistants. I don't know why you can not remove the url's. if all else fails remove spyblaster protection on all items and then uninstall spyblaster and then go here and follow the instructions and after you have done that reinstall spyblaster and vsee what you have. I still think the best option is to wait for Javacool. Since he developed the software I am sure he can help. Sorry I couldn't help more

Thank you again and also for adjusting my post above since it had a bad link in it.

I will wait to hear from the person who created the software as you suggested.

I don't know why all of the other things I tried has left the unwanted url still on the list.

Ah well, I will not give up and will check back later.

    Thanks!

Couple of comments before offering suggestion. When SpywareBlaster starts....one of the things it looks for in the registry are 23 reg keys dealing with Start page and various Search page keys and displays them as you see. Some of those items you can change back to Microsoft defaults via IE's Tools\Internet Options\Programs tab....bottom left area select Reset Web Settings....which will reset some of the Search settings and will also reset the Current users Home page to http://www.microsoft.com/isapi/redir.dll?prd=ie&pver=6&ar=msnhome

BUT....it will not reset the Local Machine Home page entry your showing in the pic

If your only wanting to fix that one entry(tag team girls )........since the rest of the entries IMO are fine....simply put www.google.com in it's place....since it is referencing the Local machine....it usually is never used anyway.
