Until the PC revolution and the rise of private-sector crypto, the NSA and GCHQ pretty much owned the industry. Other parties could not buy modern stuff, and everything available was readily pwned or backdoored.

"Microsoft sues U.S. government over data requests

Microsoft Corp (MSFT.O) has sued the U.S. government for the right to tell its customers when a federal agency is looking at their emails, the latest in a series of clashes over privacy between the technology industry and Washington.

The lawsuit, filed on Thursday in federal court in Seattle, argues that the government is violating the U.S. Constitution by preventing Microsoft from notifying thousands of customers about government requests for their emails and other documents........"

    That's a bit rich to swallow ...... especially after W10 !

Are we seriously expected to believe that M$ are becoming "troubled" by ethical concerns regarding an individual's right to privacy ?
.... just imagine the sleepless nights they must have spent !

.... oops , that came out sounding a little cynical ..... sorry :)

We are living in strange times , that's for sure ....

Housing is cheap and the weather is warm in Cuba. Thinking you should head there. Friends can now easily visit from the States. Just an idea.
