Seeing frequency of recent posts it looks like a silly season now for Prevx here on forum :p . OK, it might be a calm before storm ;) ... I mean Prevx v4 is forthcoming. Well, how about to liven up our forum a bit and let us have a touch on Prevx v4. If I caught it correctly v4 Beta should be launched in December and the final live version mid. January. So guessing v4 GUI is almost finished, maybe not completely polished but for us, Prevx enthusiasts, it would be a real excitement to see it. So Joe, can we get a pre-Xmas gift :D ?

aint going happen for a variety of reasons. Prevx is going to be tight on this before even letting it out for screenshots. I say mid to late January.

:D Unfortunately we are being very tight about it so far. Because this is the first time we've ever been able to sit back and completely rewrite Prevx without the pressure of having to support a live version of the software, we're spending much more time than it would seem from a user perspective.

Prevx 4 is a massive set of improvements over all other Prevx software and I suspect "leaking" any screenshots will make everyone anxious for a beta sooner than when we'd have one ready :) I don't want to get people's hopes up thinking there will be a beta within the next couple weeks as we're still developing/testing internally :)

However, as soon as we have one, I'll be prepared for the firestorm of posts :D

Well Joe, to be honest you didn't calm me down by your response :D . On the contrary my heart beat is accelerated even more :D . I am more impatient and keen to see v4 on my puter. Wishing the date when you release it is very close ;) .

I'm so sad I will not be able to beta test it, as I use my computer for work. I'll be insanely envious when you all start toying with it.

Would the information I gather in a virtual enviroment be useful for Prevx?. Also, I only got 4'5 GBs free in my system drive, and I need them for defragging properly and for "Windows' update attacks". I guess I could install it in my "D" drive.

I also use my laptop for work and the only beta (release candidate) having installed is Prevx. I fully understand your caution. I am avoiding betas as well, I keep only stable releases (see my signature ;) ). Yeah, initially I was reluctant to install Prevx betas but as time got past here on wilders I recognized that no major stability issues were reported. Therefore I decided to give betas a try and so far so good. They are incredibly stable. I had even installed also a few alpha Prevx builds (they are not released publicly) without any stability issues. So if Prevx give me a chance to test beta v4 I will do it definitely.

Aha! So now we know P4 doesn't look like P3 already! You're revealing too much! *puppy*

Of course, if a I was to install a beta from a security program it would be Prevx. 99'9 percent of the problems with it dissapear just by uninstalling, I can only remember one testimony in this forum of someone saying that Prevx messed up his system.

Besides, I make weekly images of my system drive (alterning two different apps, Acronis and Partition Saving) and monthly images of the whole hard drive. Soooooo.......who knows if I'll be able to resist temtation finally?.
