:thumb: up for Norton though it took them long enough. Better late than never, I guess.

BTW, has anyone ever gotten a message via LiveUpdate notification? As long as I have used NIS I have never seen this popup with info.

There is one new feature of NIS '08 that hasn't been touched upon, Caching. Is this like KAV's ISwift or whatever it's called?

It only offer big update notify, like upgrade from 06 to 07, or 07 to 07.2, 07 to 08. Symantec want all user download and install the latest upgrade that liveupdate can't offer

I think nearly all antivius software use such similar way to increase performance, norton has used before, maybe this time just an improvement and offer user a option. But why they decide to allow user to disable caching?

No, it was present in the beta though I thought at the time that it had something to do with internet caching.

Maybe this is one of the reasons it boots faster than '07.

I don't know unless it may cause problems somewhere else so you have the option to turn it off.

Damn thats a lot of Norton products. So you have LiveUpdate notification & Norton Antibot & NIS & NAV ? How do you have NIS and NAV at the same time.

It is the Protection Center, Auto-Protect, and NAB icons. I have the AP icon displayed because I can right click on it and disable AP like before playing a game or installing drivers.
