Like I mentioned in an earlier post, my new desktop came pre-loaded with Mcafee Internet Security 8, it ran well. So I decided to purchase the new Mcafee VirusScan Plus 2007 and give it a try, it seemed to be a really nice program and I liked it much better then the Security Suite. All was well until I ran the Quick Clean program, it messed up windows update by removing the active x control and I had to reinstall it to receive automatic updates. Needless to say, I was not impressed with this feature, so I decided to remove Mcafee VirusScan Plus 2007. This program seems to be a beta in progress, even after installling by CD, it required over 20MB's of downloaded files to update the software.

    this forum is biased!
i dont know, anyway i definatly choose norton over mcafee.

mcafee messed up my laptop, the wireless encrpytion changed my WPA codes and when i un-installed mcafee, it didnt revert back, so basically couldnt get on the net.

also, after un-installation (which it said was successfull) after a reboot, i get 4 error (bong) messages saying mcafee... etc could not be found.

i will not be trying it again.

This is the McAfee Total security I have installed. I have never had any problem like you have described. I have had it installed and uninstalled at least a dozen time while I was testing other AV products.

bigc73542.........When I ran McAfee 2007 3-In-1, I couldn't find any way to limit the size of, or delete it's logs. Have you found a way to do this?

    pretty nice gui!
well done mcafee with a lovely black gui
i guess you could look under reports and logs for deleteing them.
i wouldnt have any problems reccomending that av.
it seems they have stopped with the old marketing device gui teling you what you have and havent brought from mcafee.

No but it doesn't seem to ba a problem as the log seems to limit itself and deletes older logs as newer ones are written.

Well they have toned it down a bit, now they just list the other categories that there are, and if you have a lesser version, it simply says "Attention Needed"

    Still annoying.

Your nextdoor neighbours laptop has one big advantage: We don't see it here.
