Hi folks, After upgrading from NOD32 v1 to v2, I discovered there is some kind of conflict that was not there before with the cygwin implementation of XFree86. Whenever I try to run the X environment with NOD32 v2 installed it fails with signal 11. I also verified that this behavior goes away if I uninstall NOD32 v2. Here is some additional information from cygwin (xinit.exe.stackdump): Exception: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION at eip=01682E25 eax=00000009 ebx=0000000C ecx=00000002 edx=0022FA34 esi=016B3E28 edi=1004E2ED ebp=00000009 esp=0022F97C program=c:\cygwin\usr\X11R6\bin\xinit.exe cs=001B ds=0023 es=0023 fs=003B gs=0000 ss=0023 Stack trace: Frame Function Args 3 [main] xinit 1364 handle_exceptions: Error while dumping state (probably corrupted stack) Also, here is my system information from NOD32: NOD32 Antivirus System information Virus signature database version: 1.437 (20030613) Dated: Friday, June 13, 2003 Virus signature database build: 3729 Information on other scanner support parts Extended heuristic module version: 1.002 (20030606) Extended heuristic module build: 1030 Archive support module version: 1.001 (20030526) Archive support module build version: 1032 Information on installed components NOD32 For Windows NT/2000/XP - base Version: 2.000.2 NOD32 For Windows NT/2000/XP - Internet support Version: 2.000.2 NOD32 for Windows NT/2000/XP - standard component Version: 2.000.2 Operating system information Platform: Windows 2000 Version: 5.0.2195 Service Pack 3 Version of common control components: 5.81.4916 RAM: 1024 MB Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2100+ (1734 MHz) There was also a brief mention that some anti-virus software (e.g., McAffee) does not behave well with cygwin.
