Why Do I have "Internet Support Version: 2.000.8" ?

"Base Version" is 2.000.9 & "Standard Component Version" is also 2.000.9.

Why I ask is because someone said "Internet Support Version" is at 2.000.9 now. I dunno, are you all having 2.000.9? Maybe it's because I have IMON disabled while updating or something?

Many thanks Ronjor from me too !!!!!

Several months ago I started here at the NOD32-forum the following thread, hoping that it would have been made "sticky" as a service to the NOD32-users and that the many Eset mods here would do the maintenance of it:

It's been mentioned here before that one can redownload the program to have all the latest program components, but I still don't see why the Internet Support program component apparently for some of us did not update through the NOD updater as other components did. Perhaps I'm missing something?

    Hi Sig,

That's exactly why I wanted that thread (which I started several months ago) to be sticky.
ESET could have informed ALL NOD32 users in that thread.

I really hope that we are not going back to those days when there was an Eset-dedicated-forum at Becky's.
This is most certainly NOT meant to blame the fine Becky's forum !!!

I am now going to send an email to Anton, Marcos and Paul !
Things have to improve right now here !!!!!
Eset has a dedicated forum here, and they most definitely has to take their custumers/clients seriously.

    Regards, FanJ.

Yup a friend of mine - a licensed user - just confirmed this: he downloaded n installed the latest version after having uninstalled his current setup (personally I dunno why he bothered, heh) and now he's got Internet 2.000.9

Now it seems there's a prob: now according to him the install file that users download is always an SFX-RAR archive with AUTHENTICITY VERIFICATION.

BUT in this case, he told me there wuz NO authenticity verification in the new file. He only noticed that cos' he wuz used to seeing the authenticity info in the Winrar window when opening the files, and this time he didn't see it.

I told him to revert back 2 the previous version n inform this forum about the potential security risk of this new download but he doesn't seem to bother!!!!!! So I thought I might as well inform Nod32 users myself :D

So to all Nod32 users: the latest setup file has no authenticity verification so download n install it at yur own risk.....

Well, all I can say is that I downloaded the latest version the last time this was discussed here so I would I get 2.09, but I did NOT get it. I still got 2.08. So, don't waste your time. It doesn't really matter to me because I don't use IMON, but I still wanted to have the latest version since it is installed whether I use it or not.

So the Internet support component is only for IMON? If that's the case I don't care since I'm not using IMON.

Well, FanJ, I haven't been sufficiently motivated to redownload the app just to see if I'd get the updated component. And I also recall as Mele said that her redownload resulted in the same version she had before. Still, since the issue was raised again in this thread I' thought I'd mention my puzzlement.

Ainur: what your friend said confuses me...a RAR file? I've not encountered that. This is what's available at the USA site: http://www.nod32.com/download/download.htm

The only difference in v. 2.000.9 of the Internet support module is a compatibility fix. Therefore, we provided fixed imon.dll to those having that problem and updated the installer on our web site. A new beta version 2.000.10 will be available some time soon and later as an automatic update of program components.

THAT'S what it was! Now, I remember. Gee, I hate getting older...my memory just isn't what it used to be. :( Yes, Marcos...thanks for jogging my memory. How I could forget all those posts regarding that compatibility problem and Eset providing a fix in the form of 2.000.9 for those folks....

    Hi Marcos !

Thanks for the info !!! :D

My apologies to you and everyone at ESET for my strong words.
I should not have posted them !
    Again: sorry !

    Best regards, Jan.

PS: Thanks also to Anton. I've got a very kind email from him.
