hey, why do you keep your linux scanner such a secret? does it use the same engine as your win scanner? can i install it on Ubuntu (debian)

will an expert tell me i don't need to run an av in real-time? that's what alot of people say, but i'm not convinced yet!

    i'm on a standalone PC.

i'd love to try it out. thank you

Yes but as far as I know KAV is like Nod32 too, there is not a download link I guess.
I dont know about the escan, could you send me a link about it.
I only use clamAV and bitdefender for my linux system

i like this bit from the link

It has a sophisticated heuristic scan engine that can currently recognize over over 1,20,000 viruses

    how many

Guys, this is a NOD32 forum. If you want to discuss other AVs, there is another forum at Wilders. IMHO, I'm curious as to how one can tell even an approximate number of viruses detected heuristically / generically :)

thanks for moving the thread, Marcos. i didn't realise your scanner was only for servers.
maybe that's why they have such a funny number, because they're not sure. :D

i installed eScan and i think it must be a rootkit or something because there's no sign of it o_O i tried running it with microworld, escan and webscan.
