Nod32 2.50.41 in French 9.07Mo Help

Hello everybody

I have just downloaded the last version trial in 2.50.41 in French but I noticed after the downloading which the file made 9.07Mo and not 9.55Mo as stand out on the site of www.nod32.com or I have it to download.

What to make the file is that's file corrupted ?

Maybe only mistake on website..

 

This is because of different definitions of "kilo", "mega", etc. Often in computer terms, "kilo" means 1024, not 1000, because 1024 is a power of 2 (2^10) and is easy to work with.

Usual definition:
kilo = 1000
mega = 1000000
giga = 1000000000

Computer definition:
kilo = 1024
mega = 1024 * 1024 = 1048576
giga = 1024 * 1024 * 1024 = 1073741824

Do the math, and you will see that 9.07 MB = 9,515,386 bytes.
Eset is using the "usual" definition of "mega", so they say 9.515 MB, or 9.52 MB.

The same thing happens with hard drives. A 2000000000 byte hard drive will say "200 GB", but Windows only says "186 GB", so it looks like 14 GB have disappeared. It is just the different defintions of "giga".
