    I like to take Suites.
I am not clear between Symantec and Kasperskysuite.
The AV from Kaspersky is better than this from Symantec (or at least faster updated).
The PF is better from symantec (it seems for me).
    Now:
    What to choose?
    What is more important?
    PF or AV?
Antispam (for me not so important) seems to better from Symantec.
    Hmmm...

I would take Kaspersky, because an AV is more important to me.

i would not download a security suite coz each company has its advantages like kav HAS THE BEST ANTIVIRUS DETECTION WISE.

ERM SYGATE, KERIO, ZONEALARM, LOOK 'N' STOP ARE BETTER FIREWALLS THAN F-SECURE, NORTON AND KAV ANTIHACK.

so download from diffrent products i recommend to u.

    @chaos16:
Yes you are right, though I don't use any of them except the windows-firewall.
But you won't change his mind, because he is so into security suites. ;)

Two magazines, SmartComputing, and I believe the other was PCMagazine, very recently tested all the security "suites" and gave their opinion: both mags prefered the ZoneAlarm suite above the others, one reason was its ease of use.

You can probably find the pcmag article if you search their site, but I believe that you must be a SmartComputing subscriber to search their site. Good luck.

EDIT: It may have been PCWorld instead of PCMag.

Ditto. Best of breed is better than suite. I thought the Norton Firewall was decent when I looked at it, but I have nothing good to say about its AV.

My choice would be Kaspersky with any of the recommended firewalls. Personally, I use ZoneAlarm Pro.

Cnet really likes F-Secure. Antivirus by CA is the weak link in the zonealarm suite and PCmag had a comparision with Bitdefender entitled European Invasion. PCmag also has a Kaspersky Suite review.

Between NIS and KAV PS I prefer without any doubt the KAV PS.
Better detection rate, better config, better support, better resources usage...

ZA Pro 4.5.594.000 is still the GOLD STANDARD. Fast, light, and very easy to use.

Uh,uh people.Kas can drop alternative data sreams on your machine that even the KAS removal tool won't get rid of because of files in use.

The reg fix for no startup scan does not work.Sure best detection rate but it is nearly a virus itself the way it kills your system

As for NAV or NIS-fgorget it,A PIG-and trying to uninstall after you realise what a slob it is will probably crash your machine!

FYI. Kav 5.0 Personal not only can, but will use ADS if you choose to use it, but won't if you choose not to use it. Ads (alternative data streams) are in fact a windows feature and not some undocumented almost viruslike thing.

You are preaching to someone (Christophs) who is already using Kav, and of course would be aware of the way it "kills his system". :D
