Currently we accept fp on our forum, and we will add a forum entry in anti-Trojan.

May I ask a question here? Normally what reasons cause you, your friends, or others uninstall Kingsoft PC Doctor?

No problem with the registry cleaner but I am always sceptic about this tool from whatever company makes this. I use this but I remain very careful about cleaning stuffs as cleaning good entries may crash your system.
@KingsoftSecurity: An registry defragmenter and disk defragmenter will be good for the optimization section of this tool....:thumb:

Disk defragmenter is already default system tool, maybe we can think about how to make it better, or in a comprehensive defragmenter (including registry, disk or whatever). THX for your suggestion.

My valid reason was that the software seemed to cause the extremely slow boot on my XP installation, now I am on Windows 7.

It seems a nice app on the surface ,but some of the cleaning capabilities seem a little too aggressive for my liking, without much detail of the consequences. For example isnt cleaning this folder a little risky that could cause some MS office apps to malfunction?

This is the backup of patch installation packages, normally you won't need these patch installation packages again. Have you seen any malfunction caused by cleaning module? If you do, please contact me, we will carefully review the cleaning strategy and make it more helpful.

I think what he was asking if it is possible to use as per needed basis and not always having it load when you boot ur pc I guess..more of like an on demand utility

The fact that its also a system hidden folder also suggests (to me) the need for caution.
The trouble with cleaning these types of folder is that you may not find out you need anything in it ,until its too late
I personally would not use that option

Thank you for the explanation. :)

If he was asking this, I would say it's OK for cleaner and optimizer, but will lose the protection of anti-Trojan. If he does have a reliable AV program, it's all right.

Yes, I agree with you. But the fact is, this kind of hidden files may freeze more than 10 GB on system disk. This would be a high pressure for some old machines. If your system disk is large enough, keep this cache would be better.

So you can disable the background services and startup entries easily, and still use it without issues?

Yes, that is why KPD is not AV program. When you disable its startup entries, you wont be able to disable other startup entries via KPD.

Hi, can you explain this? It is a re-branded, licensed version of Kingsoft PC Doctor or what? Thanks.

Does KPD scan in realtime for trojans? I think its not because I have unpacked and even run a file which was a FP by kingsoft cloud and KPD did not alert.

I think the real time protection scans only the loaded files in memory (processes in task manager).

Yes, currently we do alert when you scan the file, or want to run the file. KPD is process monitoring, not file monitoring.

This is a re-branded version in Brazil, using the same cloud.
