As I said, I think it's the Whitelist loading, but not sure why that should take so long. To test it, temporarily remove the Whitelist items and I think you'll find the ERP loads in seconds.

 

Yep, rather strange. I don't really understand what's going on -- although not really a problem for me -- I've learned to live with it .

Thank you for the detailed information.

Please try this:

1) Add these files in the Exclusions List of Avast AV: EXERadar.exe, ERPx64Svc.exe, ERPx64.dll, ERPx86.dll (located in the installation folder or ERP)

2) Reboot the system

3) Do not use PrivaZer for 2 days and see if the error you encountered is displayed again

Let me know if this happens.

Then try to use PrivaZer and see if the problem happens again.

Keep me updated with the tests

I will try the same scenario in a VM tomorrow.

You can leave UAC on, it works perfectly with ERP and it warns you when a program needs Admin privileges.

Actually the option you suggested:

"When a process is allowed because the signer is present in the Trusted Vendors add the process to the WhiteList"

Was not present in the older version of ERP, we can discuss this and se eif we can add it in the next version

It does look like a frowning face, doesn't it. I vote for a smiley face symbol instead. Who's with me!?...... Seriously, as long as it does its job I really don't care. In Win 8 I have it set to "Only show notifications" because I rarely have to open it.

Also, NoVirusThanks, I'd like to see you update that application of your that protects against process termination. I brought it up a few months back. You said you'd look into it.

Good release @novirusthanks, however there is a small bug i think or is it by design i am not certain.
Here it is anyway... I have set-up the protection level as Lockdown Mode Advanced,however if I change it to Disabled Mode say to install a known software without any prompts after 5 minutes it restores to Alert mode instead of going back to Lockdown Mode Advanced.

 

Looks like a bug....I will check it tomorrow...

 

Reporting back:

I ran PrivaZer today and I couldn't get it to break/error out on me.

But, it doesn't always break/error out on the first few cleanups...It happens when it wants to, which is the weird thing.

I've ran into this error quite a few times (In the past) and it is definitely something that is unexplainable on what may be causing it.

All I know is, is that it does it with that particular security setup.

What about you, any findings on your end?

 

I have just checked it with two different Lockdown modes and it is working fine.
After re-enabling the protection, it switches back to the previous Lockdown mode.

Do you have also HitmanPro installed ?

An user reported the same issue as your and he said he uninstalled HitmanPro and ERP worked normally (with PrivaZer). That is a very strange issue because I am, at the moment, unable to reproduce it. But I will keep testing that scenario in a VM.

 

I was referring to an application on your website that protects processes from termination. I think it only works on 32 bit systems. I requested that it be upgraded to included Win 8 64 bit systems. I can't remember its name.

Andreas, there is a difference in brightness between left and right half of an icon.
Maybe it would be better to apply the same level for both sides?
I prefer the orange half cause popups have the same color.

 

@novirusthanks My main PC which has Windows 8 x64 and I also installed trial on VM with Windows 7 x86 and still the same, I can email you my settings if you want and perhaps you can try and see if something in that affects the modes.

 

At the time, no HitmanPro, but I did have HitmanPro.Alert installed.

 

I am trying NVT for the first time. I looked in the help file for information explaining each mode of protection, but I do not see it listed in the help file. The help file list gaming only list gaming mode, and passive mode. I do not even see a gaming mode. Is there any documentation available explaining each mode of protection?

Help file inside ERP is not maintained and is now obsolete.
Andreas is working on a new online help page.
That way, it will be easy to update it with no need for releasing new ERP version.
