Hi, after the maxtor problem of cant reinstall my dad thinks that getting rid of f-secure and then using the f-secure removal tool will rip out bits we need and the computer wont work.
i know thats not true because f-secure removal tool is designed to get rid all all f-secure componats like they where never installed so you can install a new av or reinstall it.

    any ideas to convince him?
btw kis6.0 should come tomorrow and i will install it soon but as above my dad is getting nerves.

    this forum is biased!
i have never needed to use the tool, un-installation works no problems.

as for those "removal tools" they simply just takes out all remnants of that program, use it then see.

    thats what i thought.
its just that i read on the kaspersky forum someone ran kaspersky after removing f-secure and it didnt work to well.
so they uninstalled as per don's advise run the f-secure removal tool and reinstalled kaspersky and was really happy it worked after that.

It never hurts to run the developers cleanup tool after a program uninstall, followed by a registry cleaner, like RegSupreme.

I dono lol. i guess it will mean i can open programs faster and do more.
and it will get faster and faster as ichecker kicks in on the files.
that with my fully defraggmented harddrive due to diskeeper 10 pro.
but at start up 65 processes atm and 491mb ram used.
should be 54 processes and like 300mb ram used.
