I'm considering to add securty app.

What works for me when looking at the security programs that I had (see sig.), SandboxIE or Geswall ?

I want to minimize the possibility of conflict between them.

    thank you

use geswall, a firewall like zonealarm free, outpost free - one without HIPS (HIPS may be confusing, and if you use geswall you don`t need HIPS) and an on-demand antimalware (virus/ ad/spy) scanner.i feel pretty sure that with this security setup you will be safe. :thumb:

With all due respect to my brother member tipo,I suggest Sandboxie.

To my knowledge there is no conflict with anything you run.

The default levels of both applications offer great protection.
The "tweaked" configurations of both offer even higher.

It is my opinion, that these higher,"Tweaked" settings of Sandboxie, are easier to understand, and implement than those of GeSWall.

You will do fine with either!!

    respect

thank you, tipo & ratwing :)

how about the uninstaller if anything goes wrong or conflict ? my only precaution if sys restore failed.

I have uninstalled Sandboxie on several occasions.
It only asks if you want to keep your configurations,in case you want to re-install at a latter date.

There are very few orphan registry entries, and most of them are cleared by running CCleaner reg cleaner.

For me,GeSWall was easy to remove, but to be rid of all registry entrys, you needed to search both GeSWall and GentleSecurity, plus remove some legacy stuff.

neither of them were a real problem to remove.

like boost says you can choose either one of them. they`re both great apps.you read our opinions and now it`s your turn to choose. i recommended geswall because you could be secure using only the default settings.

    good luck!

refers to windows update and SBIE has released the latest version to resolve the issue while my PC fully updated, will the issue arise again if I install SBIE now ? or should I remove MS patch first ?

    thank you

    @abu shofwan:

No brother,do not uninstal the Windows update/patch!
InshaAllah, with the latest version of Sandboxie you will be fine.

I went through the whole bad update thing,
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=270143
and every thing is fine with Sandboxie now.
