Need to close error in 1.800

Hi

PortExplorer has started having a problem when is is first starts

When it first starts one of the SYSTEM sockets turns green (show new socket) and stays green for a few minutes.
It flickers every 5 seconds.
Once the show new socket is started PG runs with out problems.

I tried to find out what system process and right clicked and selected “What is system”.
This caused a PortExplorer has problems and needs to close error window to open.

Running Win XPpro sp1 with all updates.
P4@2.1 with 512Mb PC2700

I have been using Port Explorer since it was fist introduced.
Also running ProcessGuard updated. TDS3, Outpost 2.1 and KAV 5.

I reinstalled PE but the problem remains?

I just noticed that the system process is labeled *SYSTEM initially but when it completes it changes to SYSTEM. Win98?
Cable connection thru a wired Nic.
