I want suggestions for a free light weight image viewer with a decent GUI to replace windows XP built
in Image viewe.( I don,t want anymore functionality than windows builtin one but just want to replace it
with a viewer that is separate of explorer.exe). I am currently using FastStone Image Viewer but only thing that I dislike
about this is that its, window can,t be resized like Window,s built in viewer.

    Thanks

Thanks, Irfanview and XnView already in mind.
I wonder which one is better.

You may give Vallen JPegger a try http://vallen.de/freeware/index.html

It comes with an integrated mp3-Player, which isn't so bad at all. If one does not like to use it, it will not force you to use this feature, because it does not mix up your mp3-file program association. A little drawback are the limited zoom capabilities.

see I use irfranview w\ this cool shell extension for conversion, (thanx to iceni60 ;) )
with irfanview associated with all image extensions (other than .eps .raw and .tif)
and have the F7 key shortcut to 10x drop directories all setup

    RClick convert
    click open in irfanview
F7 drop in one of 10 preset directories

basic conversion and image file management made easy
    the odd slideshow
    do everything else in Photoshop

Hi, thanks for all the suggestions. I tried IrfanView and XnView shortly but I think I will stay with FastStone at the moment as i found an option in it, to launch images windowed just like XP,s built in image viewer( it was my main concern). It has a good iamge editor as well.

    Thanks all of you.
