nCrypted Cloud encrypts your cloud storage for free!

nCrypted Cloud's main focus is privacy and secure collaboration within cloud storage. It doesn't actually provide any storage but is essentially a borderless secure collaboration for most cloud storage providers. It is a layering that is on top of your cloud storage and completely encrypts all your files using AES-256 Bit Encryption. With this you can store your files securely, send them to colleagues/friends with our trusted sharing feature, and completely manage and audit many other features within your cloud storage folder. We are HIPAA/HITECH compliant and ready to get out there and help people stay more secure with their important files! We have a free version (still includes a ton of great features) and a newly introduced Enterprise version for corporations!

It's something similar to Cloudfogger?

 

Similar, but offers many more important features for secure collaboration such as: expiration dates on files, read only options, providing a passcode to access files, watermarking files on command, full audits, the ability to switch from enterprise to personal (if you decide to invest in the enterprise version), unlinking/relinking devices (this is better than a remote wipe because once you unlink the data is not attainable but if you recover your device the admin can relink and you can access all your important data again), and the list goes on.

There are certainly other companies popping up that are similar to nCrypted Cloud but none offer the sophisticated (yet simple to use) controls and management for secure collaboration and sharing!

 

Is this a software product that entities can (and hopefully will) run on *their own* (hopefully fully private) systems/servers/clouds or is it a service whereby interactions with the encrypted information will involve communications with your servers? Does this depend on which version is used?

IOW, lets take a company that is truly privacy/security oriented. It will run its own servers and possibly cloud platform, and use those for its secure messaging and the storage of secure files/messages. Employees will only be interacting with the company's servers. If there is encrypted messaging to a customer, that customer will be able to read/respond/access the secure information and when doing so they will only be communicating with that company's servers. Is this scenario supported?

 

Great question TheWindBringeth, we've actually been asked this before. In the future we will be able to fully encrypt a company's personal server and network for "in company" use but for now we are focusing on the public cloud storage providers. As of now we are predominantly asked about protecting public cloud storage so that is what we are focusing on. When we start dabbling in private cloud servers we will discuss with each company individually to find out what the best option is. Thanks for the interest!
