I've mentioned this elsewhere recently, but these two were great! Sort of tricky as per show though.....

    rocky and his friends

The tale of a brilliant dog and his pet boy who time travel via
their "wayback machine,” it debuted in 1959 as part of a beloved animated
series called Rocky and His Friends.

After 2 years on ABC, the show moved to NBC as "The Adventures Of Rocky And Bullwinkle" (aka "The Bullwinkle Show"), rerunning the original cartoon segments in different order and adding two new segments called Dudley Do-Right Of The Mounties and Bullwinkle's Corner.

    Good work, Bigc!

    From a site linked below:

Peabody was a cartoon series about a time-travelling dog and his pet boy, Sherman. [In the first episode, Mr. Peabody goes to court to adopt Sherman]. Using Peabody's "Wayback Machine", the pair would take jaunts through history, and usually wind up instrumental in making events come out "right", i.e., the way they're depicted in history books. The 91 four-and-a-half-minute episodes always ended with atrocious puns.

Peabody was one of the back-up segments in several of [Jim] Ward's cartoon shows, starting with Rocky & His Friends. It continued when, in 1961, that half-hour series switched from ABC to NBC and was retitled The Bullwinkle Show. From 1964-67, reruns of it became part of The Hoppity Hooper Show, which aired on ABC, Saturday mornings. Finally, episodes were re-packaged into The Dudley Do-Right Show, which was on ABC in the 1969-70 season. Nowadays, it's seen as part of the Bullwinkle show on Cartoon Network. http://www.toonopedia.com/peabody.htm

I am copping others' words again, but it's complete:

The Underdog Show" is a cartoon program that ran in the late 60's and early 70's for 9 years! on NBC, and later CBS . It debuted in 1964 as -- not a bird, nor plane, nor even frog -- but little old Underdog. The character completely personifies the unlikely superhero as a small beaglesque dog with flesh-colored fur, a big, black nose, and big, floppy ears. The name itself paints an unlikely image for a superhero, the word being defined quite simply as, "a contestant or team not expected to win." Add to this an innocent, weak demeanor -- magnified by a milquetoast voice provided by Wally Cox, who made a career out of playing such fragile characters -- and you get the final picutre : a sccrawwnnnny dog in a baggy, ill-fitting costume, certainly a dubious crime-fighter.

Underdog's alter ego is the humble, lovable Shoeshine Boy. The change from mild-mannered boot-black to superhero always transpires in a token phone booth, and the cry for help invariably comes from the sweet Polly Purebred -- a reporter at a local TV station. Underdog gets his strength from popping pills (notice the decade -- try getting that on TV today), in this case a "Super Vitamin Pill" that he keeps in a compartment on his ring.

His stories were (as with Bullwinkle's adventures) air in short segments, with four or more chapters making up a complete adventure. The style and look of the animation has the same general quality to it as did "The Bullwinkle Show" -- but it is painfully obvious that a different batch of writers worked on Underdog. While Underdog is arguably the quintessential unlikely superhero to ever make it to TV, the stories are rather pedestrian and written especially for kids. (Much of this was taken from "Wild Cartoon Kingdom Magazine Issue # 5)

"The Underdog Show" formally ran on Nickelodeon some five years ago, and is currently airing on The Cartoon Network, Saturdays, at 8:30 PM.

This one is difficult- old, and had a bizarre premise- and didn't air long. Someone might recall it though! (Hint- added later- the set-up of the show had to do with an accident in Alaska, and a deep freezing event...)

The kids in my family were addicted to Laugh-in and our parents thought it was too racy for us, but we'd always break them down and get to see it... It's hard to believe the ditz Goldie Hawn played on this , her first gig- considering she is now by all accounts one of the most powerful women in Hollywood...
