Is MSAS going to remain free or will it become part of OneCare?

Also, it brings up another question:

Should an operating system come with a built-in firewall, AV, AT, AS, etc. (i.e., more/better built-in security to help deal with some of the security issues prevalent today)?

MSAS will be named Windows Defender and i think it will included in OneCare, but only the antivirus will be paid. as for an OS coming bundled with security software...i think it may help many new computer users but its also useless if people dont maintain and update their antivirus. i personally dont care as long as i can fully disable or remove it.

Thanks for the info. Will it still be available as a separate product?

Thanks in advance for any further information.

    Hi InfinityAz,

See the thread about Windows Defender Beta 2 - its the final name for Windows Anti-Spyware (less the Beta 2, of course), and it is a separate product and is free, but it is only for following:
Windows 2000 Service Pack 4; Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1; Windows XP Service Pack 2

I would like One Care to be included in Windows Vista.

but u would have a choice to install it or not when u are installing Windows Vista.
