i said possibly, doesnt mean it will, but with some systems it might, and no matter how u look at it, its gunna take a lot more bandwidth to scan a whole system compared to only critical system areas

True but still there would be an increase, plus it would take longer for HMP to finish scans (keep in mind one of HMP's strong points is it's blazing scan times).

DefenseWall (HIPS/Personal Firewall) rocks too, a very lightweight and effective policy based HIPS [IMG]

It is working very well for me. Check my security setup. What problem/error it shows on your system?

VIPRE doing pretty well so far. One of the top ranked in these tests, I've seen it failing 3 or 4 time tho... But superb performance overall. :thumb:
Blue Point Security really impressive. I personally had never heard of it before... But will be for sure my second option after my VIPRE subscription expires...

I've used Blue Point Security for about three months and would be lost without it. These tests are invaluable for common users like me who don't have a clue about testing on there own. Thanks to MRG!

Blue Point Security is combinations of whitelist + blacklist (cloud based) techniques.

Must admit I haven't tried 3.08 yet. Tried previous versions and it didn't do it for me. :(

KIS already have a sandbox. Is it not good enough?

There were several errors. My machine freezes and both Kaspersky as well as Defensewall weren't working properly.

For me the sandbox combined with it's HIPS has been enough, so I think DW with KIS is a bit overkill. But well, probably they just want to be really sure that they'll never get infected. The KIS sandbox doesn't also have many adjustable settings, maybe another reason to use DW with it.

Looks like efforts have slowed down a bit over there at MRG's latest variant tests.

After almost two months it's boiled down to...
    • Fails never.
    • Fails hardly ever.
    • Fails mostly.
    • Fails always.
    :isay:

Hope they're working on something to make it interesting again.
