Anyone tried it yet? I'm using it ATM...

    The good

It works and is reasonably fast.

It can run non-bloaty X window managers such as Openbox. Yay.

Window resize is a little smoother than under X.

    The bad

The main theoretical advantage of KMS (running the X server as a nonroot user) doesn't seem to apply; X still runs as root in the background (probably so that Openbox and other X-dependent programs can run on Mir).

Cursor acceleration is a little off, and the cursor hangs a lot under load.

CPU load is higher than with X; my laptop's fan runs continuously.

RAM usage when running Openbox on top of Mir looks about twice as high as when using X.

    The ugly

Kernel oopses. Several per second. Wow.

    ...

Overall it doesn't look worth switching to yet...

You're right, it's XMir. I think. I'm quite foggy on how the whole thing works.

In any case it doesn't seem to be a great improvement on pure X11 (yet).

It's XMir currently, I assume. I'll move to Mir when it's ready, but I don't feel like having my UI crap out on me just yet.
