microsoft outlook contacts

    how do i find out where all my contacts and addresses are kept,need to copy them to other computer via network cable.using windows xp pro .thanks

    File, Import/Export, Export to a File, Personal Folder File (.pst), Choose folders, Browse. Go import on the new box

    In outlook express the address book is kept in

    C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\Wab.exe

    For Outlook:

    C:\Documents and Settings\<your user name>\local settings\application data\microsoft\outlook.

    Copy all the files you see in that folder. Then paste them in the exact same folder on the other machine.

    All there is to it :)

    This is for Outlook not Outlook Express.

    Make sure Folder List is enabled using the view menu.

    Right click on Outlook Today (in the folder list) and select properties. Then click advanced. The box next to Path: shows the name and path of the file that contains all your outlook data.

    What I posted above is for outlook. When he follows your steps, he is going to get the file path I listed above ;)

    Sorry Capp, you are right.

    It's just that if you don't have the default location (like I don't) the extra info could be useful.
