    HI.

    Last night I want to get rid of the Acer partition on my new notebook.
    And make some new partion.
    I boot up with Disk Director,and could see a hidden partition that was called
    0x12 compaq setup.
    I delete all the partition on the 2 100 gb harddrive,I have in my acer aspire 9800 notbook.

    I made 2 partition on disk 1,where the first partition is the C and set to pri,act
    And on the disk 2 I made only one partition that it is pri,act.(all partition is NTFS)

    Now I have try to install winxp and all the driver 2 times.
    But suddenly it change my NTFS partition into: FS:NTFS partition:0x12 (compaq setup)

    And then I can not boot the system up any more??:'(

    What can I do to get rid off this compaq setup partition o_O

    I relly hope there is someone out there,there could help me out whit this problemo_O:'(

    many warm regards from,

    lunte

    are u using a retail windows xp cd, or is it like a restore cd that came with the laptop?

    if its the latter, perhaps it is responsible for creating the partition.

    Hi.

    Now I have used my girl friends computer all night,google after this compaq setup.
    I found out that this is a hidden parition,wich restore win xp and all driver.
    Have a parition program that is called 7tools parition manager 2005.
    It could see that there was a hidden parition as the primery,but disk director could not see this after I have delete this first time.
    Now I am trying to install win xp pro again for the third time.
    Hope this will work outo_O

    Many thanks for your help.

    I have a win xp pro version,and not the version that came with my computer.

    regards from lunet

    Hello lunte,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Partition and Disk Managing Software.

    WSFuser is right. If you still experience the described issue then please do the following:

    - Download and run Acronis Report Utility;
    - Select the "Create Bootable Floppy" option;
    - Insert a blank floppy disk in the A: drive and proceed with creation of the bootable floppy;
    - Boot the computer from this diskette and wait for report creation process to finish;
    - Collect the report file from the floppy.

    Please submit a request for technical support. Attach the collected report.txt file to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.
