I just started using FD-ISR v3.20 Build 202, and it did not change my MBR (I use BootMagic 8.0). :D :D

I have my 250GB drive like this...

    C: 16MB (FAT w98se)
    C: 10GB (NTFS XP/SP2 production)
    C: 10GB (NTFS XP/SP2 testing)
D: 94MB (FAT32 Home of PowerQuest BootMagic 8.0 [PowerQuest was bought by Symantec])
E: 218GB (NTFS "My Documnets", data, stuff)

After installing FD-ISR, the only thing I noticed was the FD-ISR menu was displayed after I choose which partition I wanted to boot. :thumb:

P.S. I will be changing my partitions since FD-ISR will allow me to have different snapshots... I probably change the two 10GB partitions to one 20GB partition.

Maybe slightly OT but could you explain to me what the $ sign is for when you quote the paths? I have never come across this before...o_O

    Thanks

Nothing special, just using that character to make it stand out.

    The $ indicates hidden file

Sorry, not right. Maybe you are think of share names that end in with "$"?

    Code:
    C:\test>
    C:\test>mkdir $hello

    C:\test>attrib /d /s
               C:\test\$hello

    C:\test>mkdir $hello2

    C:\test>attrib +h $hello2

    C:\test>attrib /d /s
               C:\test\$hello
        H C:\test\$hello2

    C:\test>
See, only the $hello2 is hidden (see the "H" shown by the attrib program)

Any character, other than those show in post 34, are valid. I usually find [] is used by some programs if the file all ready exists. There are a billion rename programs that can rename those to whatever you like, but, the junk in IE Temp, probably does not really matter. The few times I use IE, I have my IE Advanced settings to delete that crap on IE exit.

Some of that "crap" as you call it are another man's treasures.

I been raking in swf. files for years from dropping into my temporary internet box and have fashioned some fantastic web sites with junk like that. I even impliment them locally on my own machine for all sorts of enhancements.

I guess you might say i'm a conservatist, i prefer to pick thru the rubbish and keep the collectables for creating some unique artistry. :thumb:

I thought the $-sign indicated payware, so I was also wrong. ;)
