Sweet, especially since I ran across a fake Android AV last night on my Nexus 7. It didn't install since I didn't click the "scan" button, but I was still shocked to come across it.

I'm very happy that MBAM is now available for Android. Hopefully it's just as effective as the Windows version.

Thanks Victek123, we hope so too. If you do run into issues or find we've missed something please post on our forum and let us know.

    Cheers

No issues so far. Battery usage is insignificant, and it's great that it runs resident and scans program installations in real time. Are you planning a "pro" version, and if so and how will you incentivize us to subscribe? :)

Like the Windows version, can I run it alongside Avast for Android?

Yes, I've been running them together since MBAM for Android was released without problems.

But is it like MBAM Windows designed to be complementary and focuses on threats AV's are generally not good at and let the AV take care of the rest or is it a full spectrum solution?

Good question. I've read all the release info and there isn't a clear statement about this. Hopefully "AdvancedSetup" can say.

Our new Anti-Malware Mobile is not a full antivirus application just like our desktop product and works in conjunction with an antivirus application.

The following link should be what you were looking for.

I installed this on my 1st gen Nexus7 last night. It seems to be running great.

Have you thought about adding an Ad network detector with opt-out like this? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lookout.addetector&hl=en

I honestly don't even know if opting out does any good. It's worth the effort if it protects privacy just the smallest bit.

P.S. I totally respect any vendor that lists and explains their permissions. Hint hint ;)

Just curious, from where u got it? Play store?

I've had it running with Bitdefender Free on a WiFi-only Nexus 7 FHD. Pretty good combo IMHO for that level of connectivity. Phone users may want a greater feature set where Avast would be my choice.

On the Nexus, I'm not going with Avast since it's got a firewall (even tho not "enabled" on a non-rooted slab) and I'm working with the Grey Shirts NoRoot Firewall. I didn't want to risk any influence from Avast within that construct. I just posted up details about NoRoot Firewall in the "other firewalls" forum.

BTW & FWIW, a reviewer and Kaspersky user at the Play Store reported that upon a first scan MBAM-M found malware.

I've seen this and other ad network detecting apps. It can be useful to be more aware of apps permissions, but as to "opting out" it seems that uninstalling is the only alternative unless the device is rooted.

Nope, it was a website that opened when I clicked a link. It actually happened again last night from another site. I wasn't actually infected either time, but may have been had I clicked the "scan now" button on the page. Note that I've been going to er...high-risk sites...

No disrespect intended, but I already have 2 licenses,so not really interested for that contest.
But like Victek123,I'm curious about a eventually planned "pro" version and the cost of that 1....:D

Hmmm.... how can you become infected. By default any thing out of play store will not be installed.

I may try it when they release anti theft features. I recently purchased an Avast! Mobile Security license. :D
