Can't find instructions on how posters create the link to another thread by making the word "Answer" "be" a hyperlink to a thread. This occurring in NOD32 V2 FAQ Sticky at top and I've only found a thread on inserting Images, not hyperlinks to threads. Is this worth anyone's time to explain or offer link to instructions? Also, how do you create the link so that it Opens at (ie) post# 15 out of 40 so reader doesn't have to read thru many irrelevant posts in the thread to get to the real "answer" post? Many Thanks as always!

The following thread shows a bit about making and viewing links using the available bbcode in vBulletin:

    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=115668

A basic example, which also shows a direct post based link using a post within Blackspear's Extra Settings thread as an example:

direct link to Winsock Repair post in thread view

This was done using the following URL, but I've added the two * so the forum won't parse this next one, so you can see it.

[*url=http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?p=462132&postcount=81]direct link to Winsock Repair post in thread view[/*url]

Threads can be referenced by their threadid or by a specific postid. The difference being just the "t=######" versus "p=######" in the above example, versus a link just to the first page of the Extra Setting thread:

    Extra settings for Nod32 v2.5 - revised 17-06-2005

    [*url=http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=37509]Extra settings for Nod32 v2.5 - revised 17-06-2005[/*url]

Oh, you can change the showthread.php to showpost.php and just directly link a single post, not in the context of its thread:

direct link to Winsock Repair post

[*url=http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=462132]direct link to Winsock Repair post[/*url]

The direct post-based URL can be found as a link under the post number in the upper right corner of whatever post you want to link to. (Shown in image below)

LWM: You always come through for me. Did two links in Test forum and am certain my Computer IQ must have risen 20 points -- up to 24! Many Thanks!
