Uhm... it sounds like you got the source code to compile. Go on http://lynx.isc.org/lynx2.8.5/index.html and look for the Win32 executable. I run it from Cygwin http://www.cygwin.com but I wouldn't recommend it if you need just Lynx.

    Just go to:
    hxxp://csant.info/lynx.htm and download the installer.

It's by far the best port of lynx to windows i've seen.
Alternatively, here are some more ports of text-based browsers for windows:
    hxxp://www.paehl.com/open_source/?TextBrowser_for_Windows

What do you mean how do i run it?
If i remember well, the CSant installer generates some shortcuts. If not,
start-run-cmd,then cd into the appropriate directory, and type lynx.
Type lynx -help to see the rest of the shortcuts,
or just press g to start browsing immediately.By the way,
there is no way in windows for lynx-based browsers to display graphics,
'cause the whole X server system is missing.
(Maybe it would be possible through cygwin, but i haven't tried that).

    That's all!

Lynx in Unix systems has clickable items and some versions can toggle images on/off.In windows, well, you know...windows.
    How safe is it?
    Short answer 1:
    You don't get activex,javascript,iexplore.exe+mozilla holes,
wmf exploits and God knows what else.
    Short answer 2:
To a true hacker,it shares the same degree of security with your windows box.
    Long(-term) Answer:
    Try to learn/switch to Unix...

The colors you can change them:search in lynx for some files called .lss,
and edit them according to your needs.
Not fast? That i don't know, here browsing with lynx is the faster it could be:
only thing i 've found to be faster in windows is Opera,
but with all images,Javascript etc. turned off.
