Lubuntu 10.10

    I duel booted Lubuntu10.10/xp and all went fine until i updated L and then i lost the duel boot to xp, (I got xp back by running 'fixmbr').
    I would like to know how to fix L so i dont lose the duel boot after updating.
    At the present i dont have L installed but if i need to install it to help find the answer i will no problem.

    if you have a desktop best thing is put both linux and windows on different hardisk but any how if you have one hardisk then please check the way you have install it if you install the grub(linux boot loader) then you have to put the path of xp in its grub

    there are many tutorials on net regarding grub 2 editing

    Lubuntu Dual Booters - No Windows Menu

    Lubuntu apparently doesn't ship with the package os-prober so Windows will not be added to the Grub 2 menu. To add Windows, install os-prober, update grub and then check to see if Windows is now in the menu:

    sudo apt-get install os-prober
    sudo update-grub
    grep menuentry /boot/grub/grub.cfg

    thank you for getting back to me on this.
    it worked and im a happy camper now;-))
    grub is strange to me..i understand it to a point but cant trouble shoot it so your help is greatly appreciated.
