I'm new to linux. I have Mandriva as a second partition on a Windows box. But not much experience yet.
Now I installed Linux Mint for a friend. Blind leading the blind scenario.
Well, everything works great. Including sharing access between a folder on a Windows computer and one folder on the mint computer. That surprised me. I thought that will be the hardest part. So I copied a bunch of pictures and music from a Windows computer to the Mint computer. Files are there. All works fine.

But I can't find a way to make just one directory that all users on the Mint computer can see.
Only I can see them. In desperation, I copied the stuff to some folder called Public. That didn't work.
I then set permissions on the folder for all to see. Didn't work.

There'll be 3 users and all would like to access that one place. I'm sure there is some very simple way, but what is it, please.
