    Had to look it up. It's a kernel release. I thought it was a distro. :argh:

    Linus Torvalds created an alternative to the Microsoft computing monopoly. The effects of the Linux kernel are still felt today! :thumb:

    Thanks Ron, for that bit of info. If I had known earlier I would have taken the old lady out and celebrated on the 26th. I run Linux (Ubuntu) on all my home PCs except this laptop which I've been using to experiment with Win 8 on. That's all it is...just an experiment. Linux is my first love when it comes to an OS.
