This problem only started a few days ago so it must be a program update that has done this.

Anyway if I click on any pdf's that are more than a few kb in size the download stops and the file won't open.

Disabling nod32 and the file opens without any trouble.

    Acrobat Reader 9.20

    Windows 7 64 bit

Does anyone else have come across this issue? Does disabling real-time or web protection solve the issue?

Problem not happening for me in either IE or Opera, using EAV 4.2.xx on a Win7 x64 OS. Also using Adobe Reader 9.2.xx. Default option intact except some changes to cleaning levels in all of the modules.
Both opening a PDF in browsers frame or downloading the PDF to disk work as expected.

For the test I used the manuals on the ESET.com website.

Disabling web protection also allows the pdf's to download.

Which browser do you use. I recently reloaded Firefox on a PC and PDFs would not open until I made a change to the setting in Firefox.

Firefox or IE8. A long time ago I had the same problem but it was just firefox. This week the problem returned effecting now both browsers. Certainly a nod32 problem going to try 32 bit windows in abit too see if it only effects 64 bit version.

Seems to be a Win 7 problem. Works fine in windows XP.
Removed and re-installed acrobat reader still can't open large files. I now get the file is corrupt in firefox which it isn't of course.

Well the fix is to disable display in web browser. The file then opens properly.
So it seems that nod32 is blocking the opening of acrobat within the browser.

These changes may change the landscape as to how Adobe products behave.
    Stay tuned.

Can't see if resolving the issue as the problem is caused by Nod for some reason.

Installed the latest updates and pdf's are working again. However had this problem before and it went away.

Since you have presumably performed the Adobe updates, could we assume that your issue is closed?
