Wonder if that DPI includes the facilty to intercept etc HTTPS ?

Outrageous whichever way you look at it though :thumbd:

The average usually wouldn't know or care less :( about this type of thing, but as it will affect their YouTube & Facebook etc etc online activities, i expect that all of a sudden they "might" now react :D

Who would have thought that FB etc users "might" save the day :p

What is with the companies wanting to inspect every bit of private data they can? It's like having a too committed fan or something. I understand that you can use some of the data for marketing and with packet inspection you can get to know if some kid downloads music, but c'mon.

KPN offers cheap Internet bandwith and they are loosing income because of all those smartphones

    a) few people are sending sms anymore, most text through whatsapp
    b) few use their mobile to call through voice network, most use voice over IP (VOIP) of skype instead

The idea is to charge for those protocols when they detect it with DPI

Still rather stupid privacy issue (although I am able to read your letters, I don not open them, I just check your envelope addresses , when it says WhatsApp or Skype I am charging you extra, but rest assure I will not read the letter o_O )

When more operators follow the Microsoft take over of Skype may turn out pretty useless :D (they paid US-billions or EU-milliards for a company still making losses, skype has a mild equity burn rate, only 1 million dollar per quater  )
