   Does performing a full system scan after installation improve overall speed or performance?

   I guess yes (if you have iChecker, iSwift and "scan only new and changed files" checked for resident/file and memory scanner)
   If you have those option checked for on-demand scanner your 2nd scan will be faster than bullet
